Playing Next song using the single button on your headset

This wont count as an invention but is surely a discovery on my part. For this trick you would need.
1)mobile phone with music player (not sure if it works on all but surely works for Galaxy Ace, try and leave a comment)2)Headset with mic (that has a single button to answer/end calls or Pause/resume playback)

How it works:
Start music player and play a song, press the button on headset to pause.
Press the button twice to play next song(when the current song is paused).
Leave your replies so that i know it works.

Official Gingerbread 2.3.6 Update for Samsung Galaxy Ace

Finally the Gingerbread 2.3.6 update (DDKQ8) has arrived for Samsung Galaxy Ace OFFICIALLY.
It promises an increase in performance of the phone and also boasts of longer battery life.Visibly there are a few major differences too.

Whats New???Say good bye to the old lock screen with two circular virtual slide buttons for unlocking and turning ON/OFF the silent mode. With the new unlock screen you can slide anywhere to unlock the phone. The digital clock is placed on the left bottom side of screen. with a new circle in the centre which displays number of new messages or missed calls(it is not visible if you don't have an sms or missed call).

When you received a call in the Gingerbread 2.3.4 or earlier you got a answer and end options similar to the lock screen. It has been replaced with a trendy looking options.

When you scroll to the end of list/image a blue light glows from the edge signifying end of line etc. it looks pretty cool too.
The Old Android market has been replaced with Google Play, which is pretty much same with a few new enhancements.
The text memo icon has changed too, yippee!!! as if it matters as long as it works the same.
A few things here and a few things there which are noticeable when you look around. The major upgrade i found was in the battery life it has improved a bit(or i must be imagining)but it runs better than the froyo/gingerbread that i had earlier.I installed a lot of apps and found that they somehow took a little less phone memory.
The updating took me about 30 minutes(i updated from Gingerbread 2.3.4) and was hassle free i did not even require a data cable or Kies as the update was over the Air "OTA"

How to update your Samsung Galaxy Ace to Gingerbread 2.3.6:*I am considering that you have already updated your phone to Gingerbread 2.3.4 as you won't get the software update option in Froyo 2.2.1*
*Donot try to turn your hone off in between as it may brick your phone**You may also try to update any other phone that's running on Gingerbread*1)Charge your phone well i advice 100% battery as it may save you future trouble, connecting a charger while updating is also a good option but why take chances? (my battery was at 96% before starting and it went smooth)
2)Hope you have a high speed 3G connection as i do but wi-fi is still better for downloading update files.
3)Backup any data like contacts and messages(I did not backup any data and lost nothing, you may well backup if you don't want to lose any thing)
4)Go to Settings > About Phone > Software Update > Update
5)The phone will search for updates available and will start downloading them once it has received them it will start installing automatically.(Before this update rolled out in India i got a message saying "your Phone is already updated".
6)you may be prompted to restart your phone, do so.
7)In case you are not able to receive update the update is not available in your region.(This is an OFFICIAL update provided by samsung so i can't help you if you dont get theupdate.
8)After the long wait your phone will start again and yippee!!! you've got a new OS. you can check it in Settings > About Phone.
The only down side i found to this update was it took a long time to roll out and we have been waiting for it for a long time. Though it is Not ICS Ice cream Sandwich it is good that we at least get an update.

hope this information was helpful, Both Criticism & Praises Are Appriciated.

The long awaited update of Gingerbread 2.3.6 for Samsung is available OTA (over the air: no kies required) it's faster and has a few enhancements made to run better.
I updated it yesterday and it took me roughly 1/2 an hour to complete the upgrade.

Consumes less battery and is a bit faster.

Classic GBA games on my Samsung Galaxy ACE

The android markets full of good games but the downside is they come at a price.
I loved the old days when we enjoyed the "Classic console games" so wanna play those on your android???
Hold on to your seats we are going back in time.....zzzzzzzzzoooooopppppppp!!!!!!!!!
Lets play "The Road To WrestleMania"
Aim:Running the GBA games on your android device

Need to have:
  1. Android phone- i have a Samsung galaxy ACE with Gingerbread 2.3.4  (others not tested but should work, you are not risking anything.)
  2. Gamedroid.apk (Or any other GBA/VBAEmulator)
  3. And the ROM that you want to play. (Road to WrestleMania is what i chose)
  4. Downloading the Gamedroid app and ROMS  may not be legal so i am not posting the links, just to stay safe.
  5. you may also need to download the GBA bios (try googling).
Procedure:
  1. Download and install the Gamedroid.apk on your mobile.
  2. when you open it for the first time you may need to point to the bios file.
  3. Select the game you want to run and BaaAMMMMM there's a Game Boy in your hands.
Once you Get it running you can play it with on screen controls.
The games are 2D and not high in graphics (OLD SCHOOL).
But are still fun, bring back the old times.
You can run them on PC too, try a PC emulator instead of the apk.
Here's the link for those who would like to beat the shit out of or wrestlemania opponents.
And the following are the Screen shots of the game on my phone.

Happy gaming.

How it all started

Ten thousand days that i lived to be
still searching the unknown me
days that were spent as a child
worries few & thoughts ran wild
this is the story of me growing
in a poem wort knowing
In month of november at two
i was born fine like many of us do
loved by all and cared like a jewel
in protection of my family i used to dwel
bottle of milk in my little hand
sometimes i crawled couldn't stand
days passed on and i grew strong
walked around in a thong
a year went on day by day
i ran around learnt to play
my first few words surprised all
everyone loved the way i call
time went fast i went to school
life was begining to get crammed with rule
i made few friends and learned a lot
at time of exams i forgot
somehow i managed to get educated
got a job after a while i waited
but i wanted everything new each day
couldn't leave job i got the pay
got an account on blogger.com
this is the way my blog was born.

Know me before there's no me.

This is a brief introduction of who I am, just intended to let people know me before the know what i feel.
Hi my name is Swapnil (meaning dream like or seen in a dream), funny why my parents decided to call ,me that. I am a regular "guy next door". I have done my 10+2+Diploma in Electronics and Communication with some just "above average" score. I work for a MNC since past one year.
I love playing/watching football (soccer)-its been a long time since i played now.
I love to play guitar ( just learned a few chords, more later).
Soak in the sun on a beach (My Hometown's close to a beach).
Watch TV, play games, hang around with friends, sketch, sing (we have a "Band" that performs for a croud of 3 people sometimes) sleep, surf the net, read books.....& what else???? riding bike, going on vaccations, taking un-informed leaves.............the list goes on

Like my blog I am as you are very very  ordinary.
