The long awaited update of Gingerbread 2.3.6 for Samsung is available OTA (over the air: no kies required) it's faster and has a few enhancements made to run better.
I updated it yesterday and it took me roughly 1/2 an hour to complete the upgrade.
The phone now has a different lock screen.
Consumes less battery and is a bit faster.
